Had a quick look at CJ wildbirdfood catalogue as that's where I get my
seed from and there 20kg is a mammoth £67!!

Have tried Gardman and some other bird food /seed but my birds don't
seem keen on that at all and it gets left and damp etc. but the no mess
from CJ is eaten as fast as I can put it out.
Not sure why!

£35 for 25Kg plus delivery

I'm now feeding just broken sunflower kernels and "broken" peanuts
(both cheaper than the whole ones). I found that a lot of the "no
waste" mix was left and I got a lot of maize germinating in the run
from bird table to tree. I shop around and buy in bulk about twice a
year. I remember earlier this year buying a pile of stuff from Ark
which was the cheapest I could find at the time but by the time I'd
mentioned that here, their prices had rocketed. ISTR that CJ are the
"appointed RSBP supplier" so their prices may well be the highest
around, apart from the RSPB's own shop!

Cheers, Jake

Isn't that strange? My feeders are huge and they get emptied really
quickly with the no mess but it can take twice as long if i put in the
sunflower stuff or other brands.

 jan@lancedal.demon.co.uk says...

They are a very good quality brand.. I always bought from CJ when we
lived in the mainland but they charge way OTT for island shipment (don't
get me started on that rip off).
