You could try cutting back anything really obviously dead leaving the
actual plant in place. Then water it and keep doing so, preferably in
the morning but at night, too, if it's especially hot weather and the
basket has dried out. We're just starting on planting winter baskets,
so if yours really has had it, do that - start again for the winter
with ivies and low growing tulips and daffs, winter-flowering pansies,
that sort of thing.

A squirt of washing up liqued in the water will help the peat to re
hytrate, agree with everything in the previous posts.
Thought for next year, use some of those water retaining crystals,
they work very well in my baskets.
Also large baskets are easier to keep flowering and looking good than
the normal small 12" ones.
Also think about where you are placing the baskets, a drying wind is
not good, and combined with a south facing wall and you will struggle.
