This year I have been overrun with clover in the lawn.
What is the best way to get rid?

Clover is green, stays greener than grass in dry weather, has pretty
flowers and is keeping the soil fertile. Why get rid?

Oh dear - here we go again!
(Note to Peltigera - we started on that route when the first post
appeared, and were shouted at by people who believe you should simply
answer the Q, and not 'preach', and went on from there ... the flames
have only just died down)

Just because people shout does not make them right. Equally, people who
do not shout are not necessarily right either. My point being: Let them
shout or not shout I will still give my point of view...Ask a question and I
may respond with a question. Peltigera offered valid information and then
asked a question. There is nothing either right or wrong with that...I do
wonder why anyone would want to kill clover when it does so much for the
soil, the worms and the sustainability of....life. I suspect peer pressure.
"Look at my lawn I have no weeds". Well, woopy ding... You have no worms
either and your soil is infertile. Is that something to look forward to?
I too, have weeds. The weed I have is called Purslane. You can find it
on the internet. Other names: hogweed, pigweed, purslane, little hogweed,
postelijn, pourpier, portulet, garden purslane, and fatweed. The nutritional
value of this 'weed' can be found on the internet. The only difference
between 'my' weed and clover is that I just found out the value of purslane.
The value of clover is already well known. I won't be killing 'my' weed. Why
would you want to kill yours knowing 'it's' benefits?
