We got little sleep last night because of the gale making such a noise
and howling round the house. Apart from some plants blown over in the
Nursery, I don't think there's any damage other than a willow tree
leaning heavily over a poly tunnel. That will have to be removed very
carefully! But the sound of the wind was terrific and it must have
been far worse for those further north. We got lashing rain but at
least we didn't get blizzards! The wind has now dropped considerably
and there's blue sky coming over but there are flood warnings out at
Staverton, our nearest point to the River Dart. We're too far away to
be affected but I hope it doesn't do its worst for others living there.
And I hope everyone here has retained their greenhouses, gardens, trees
and tunnels!

I'm glad you kept safe, that's the main thing. Little wind here but
it's getting colder which means that snow is on the cards, time to
batten down the hatches.

And out with the snow tyres, too, I imagine. The wind is returning
here, but I do hope it's not going to be as strong as before. ;-(

Not too windy at all at present but just a faint susurration through
the trees and hedges. But the sky is grey and lowering. We had to go
up to a village on the moor this morning and the water lying there was
quite something in places.
