...I know it's not a precise science but cannot believe that on
Thursday we read it was going to blow a hooligan and lash with rain all
week end. It's breezy but very sunny, cloudless blue sky etc. And
that's only 3 days later. How, then, do they reckon they can predict a
month or more forwards? Grrr..!

So what the hell was it which within 24 hours demolished Shanklin Pier and
caused untold damage all along the South Coast? What caused very old trees
uprooted in a beautiful road in Shanklin?

You get the weather you are going to get. This is the UK, the weather is
unpredictable.
Besides, it gives the poor old farmers something to bleat about when it's
hot/cold/dry/wet typical UK weather!!
