And there was me carefully collecting those horrible 'dead man's
fingers' from the Blue Bean Tree, (Sausage Tree) Decasinea fargesii tree
in a garden I visited in the pouring rain last October. They were all
squelchy and yucky but hoping to germinate them I carefully washed them
and owed them and good grief I have almost 100 per cent germination! Why
they haven't taken over the world is anyone's guess!
Now where to plant them all?

Lucky you! I have grown D. fargesii for years. I'm on my third plant
and although they've always flowered well, I've only had pods once.
If there are any specialist nurseries around, ask them if they are
interested in any - particularly as a swap for one of their excess
seedlings or rooted cutting.

The tree in Hockliffe was laden with the 'fingers'
Mine are growing but they are only smallish yet but could send out one
by post if anyone wants one?

Hi Janet,
Do I qualify? :) I'd be happy to reciprocate with a maple or two if
you're interested. I have a lot of nice Acer davidii this year if you
like. Any posting should probably wait 'til dormancy, mind.

I can't say I know the tree, I feel I should, but looking at it on
Google it just doesn't ring a bell.
I'm sure I must have something you would like in exchange.
The plant you sent me last year(I've lost the lable) has now decided
to go mad and has put on over 2ft already this year.
