I've just picked the last of the outdoor Jersey Sunrise tomatoes. They
are only half-ripe but after last night's storm-force winds I thought
they might be better inside? Have I picked them too soon, do you think?

Hoping for better weather next week to sow broad beans, Jersey Royals and
garlic.

Oh go on gloat, why don't you?!   Ours ripened off the vine, indoors in
a cool room, over two or three weeks.  One ripe one among them helped
the others. Some were completely green.

I remember a year when potatoes on the cotîls opposite Gorey Castle
were planted twice.  The rain brought them down the first time!
