Just been round a bit of the garden and Daphne bholua Darjeeling is
flowering and so is Camellia sasanqua Narumi-Gata.  This is normal for
those and very welcome they are.  Lavatera Barnsley is in full flower,
too. The Amicia zygomeris is covered in yellow blooms though the first
frost will probably get those. We've yet to have one.

Technically, it's not winter until the 1st of December (meteorological
winter) or the solstice (astronomical winter). And, by the actual
weather (phenological winter), it hasn't arrived yet either.

I've had one frost so far this autumn (6th of November), which nipped a
Lavatera 'Princesse de Lignes' sat out on the allotment (a more exposed
location than around the house).

I've seen Lavatera 'Barnsley' flowering into January before, but mine
has more or less stopped (but Lavatera 'Rosea' is full flower). I've got
several Abutilons and Anisodonteas flowering, as well as a few flowers
left on Grewia caffra, and the aforementioned Lavatera 'Princesse de
Lignes'.

Strawberries are flowering (but the fruits are not ripening).

At home we have a couple of Roses flowering, Tess of the D'Urbavilles has
one flower but Graham Thomas is covered in it's yellow flowers, it's the
best it's been all year. Also a patio rose called "Mothers Day" is in flower
as usual, good value plant that one, more flowers than leaves. Nerine
bowdenii "white" is looking good in bloom for the first time (2 years), a
number of my old Pelagonium "Doris Moore" are still doing their stuff as is
a Fuschia inherited from an old Aunt which is not supposed to be hardy but
it's not been damaged in the last two winters. In the front garden a red
Alstromeria that's been walking around for years is flowering well and a
Dahlia "Sunrise" is flowering still occasionally. The citrus trees are also
flowering!

On the allotment the Boisenberry is in full flower, not much chance of fruit
this time of year, looks good seeing something flowering though.
