I gave an illustrated talk to a local WI last night about the local Theatre
we have saved http://www.friendsofshanklintheatre.org.uk/ ,
http://www.shanklintheatre.com/default.aspx which was as usual very well
received, but another idea for a talk, 'Rationing in World War II' was
suggested and received with enthusiasm, 'Yes please Mike'. It has already
been started on and I need help with first hand experience of the home
garden. I do have "Rationing in the Second world War, SPUDS, and SPAM Eating
for Victory" by Katherine Knight before anyone recommends it :-))
Now I know none of you are old enough to have first hand memories, but any
stories your parents told you would be appreciated. ;-))
I would also like to hear stories of allotments which were started in the
family during the war and kept on and handed down.
[[ Note to Isle of Wight urglers. I have a series of talks on many subjects,
( http://www.iwias.org.uk/ the one on October 14th isn't quite correct in
its title, as an Apprentice and with an Electrical Engineer, I only
maintained it) if you wish me to present one to your club, drop me an
email.]]

America is not broke. The country is awash in wealth and cash.
It's just that it's not in your hands. It has been transferred, in the
greatest heist in history, from the workers and consumers to the banks
and the portfolios of the uber-rich.
