Okay, that's enough, thank you. We'll have summer back please! Huge
rain and gusty wind has just taken a parasol across the lawn
because someone forgot to take it down after a customer preferred to
sit outside (!) and the skies are dark and lowering. Welcome to July.
Whatever happened to nice, warm, balmy English summers?!

Well not if it's like last Sunday, heavy still weather, humid and
boiling hot. Gave me a headache and though it was a day when i was going
to do loads in the end I couldn't feel like doing anything until about
6.30pm!
Looked like rain today but none transpired. Given up trying to
anticipate weather and just take everything with me if going out!

Yes, that humidity was horrid but as we were garden visiting, we were
lucky to be able to take the day at our own pace. But the rain here
today has gone from stair rods to a few intermittent drops to a glimmer
of sunshine and more stair rods.

Our cars have wellies, Barbours and brollies in them. I'm beginning to
think a suitcase with a change of clothes might be a good idea. I left
here yesterday morning in a light drizzle and arrived in Ashburton (2.5
miles away) in a heavy downpour! Even for the English weather this is
beyond a joke.

They're a figment of the imagination.
July is on average the 4th wettest month of the year after Oct, Nov and
August (according to my figures.)

What are you on about Sacha?
If this isn't a balmy spring and summer then I don't know what is.
We had 0.8 inches yesterday and today I would say more than that, and
it's been gusting towards gale force late afternoon.
I'm still trying to plant dahlias, though it seems as if I am putting
out rabbit food, I've never known them eat so many, And the Foxes
don't bother to go for them, nor do the Buzzards, the perigrins or the
red Kites.
On Tuesday we had a Perigrin seeing off a Buzzard, flying behind it
and every so often diving in to hurry it up.
