I've just picked some Sarcococca confusa and brought it into the house,
along with a few Camellias. It smells wonderful and it needs so little
to scent the house. I'm upstairs and the smell is drifting up to me.
We've also got Sarcococca hookeriana but that seems to flower a bit
later, though it's in bud now.

My confusa's just starting to flower. Neither hookeriana has any buds
but then it's their first spring in the ground so they may be a fair
bit later than yours if they bother at all this year.
Camelias not in flower but covered in very fat buds. Hydrangeas
forming large buds a bit early and covered in 2 layers of fleece in
case.
Cheers, Jake

Both our 3 year old Sarcococca (confusa and hookeriana) that are
planted in beds have a sprinkling of flowers, but the 'spare' confusa
that I wanted to use for cutting is unfortunately looking rather sad
and has produced no flowers.

Dare I say "have you checked its roots"?

Walked past my confusa today and caught the scent. Also nearby was
the first crocus in flower!
