It rained here last night and is showery and threatening this morning.
It's a lot cooler than it was though the wind is more in the SW than
the SE, which really did feel cold. The rain is very welcome but we'd
like the sun back for the week end, please!

Swap? You can have my sunshine and I'll have your rain?
The lack of rain here is getting desperate now.

The Rhine is very low. Houseboats in Arnhem are high and dry.

More than desperate... Here are some figures to demonstrate, thanks to
Meteo France:
- 2nd hottest April since 1900 behind only 2007
- average +5.5 C
- among the driest with 29% of average rain fall
- driest surface soil conditions in 50 years
- greater than 1.5X sun exposure
"rare showers" forecast for this WE, which always means nothing.

I don't think it's enough to do a lot of good, David but it has bucked
things up a bit!
