We've just bought an Oregon elements clock which has an outside
temperature sensor with it. Whatever we do we cannot get the two to
'talk' to each other. They're on the same channel etc. If anyone has
one of these, what are we missing?!! And would the lead that is in our
mullion windows affect the sensor's ability to pick up outside temps
and transmit them to inside? The exterior sensor is supposed to work
within 100 feet of the clock but it's nothing like that distance away.
Thanks to anyone who can advise me!

Do they talk to each other when placed side by side?
I have a different make and it prefers line of sight.

It was crossing my mind that the metal window frame AND the lead were making
a screen. Line of sight through an open window, (doing away with the lead
screen) might work. However, certain grids on the old triode and above
valves were there to cause a screen/filter purpose

Some double glazing has an invisible metal film on the glass.
.....................................................................................
When you say 'invisible' do you mean that mirror stuff? My wife worked for
the Legal Department in the County Council's Office and that stuff was put
on the windows :-)) Lovely story I could tell but it would be
soooooooooooooooooooo Off Topic I would be told off ;-)
