Hi,
Could anyone give me an idea of the height this will grow to in its
first, second and third years. I've ordered some in 2 litre pots to use
for both it's look which I like a lot but also for screening. I need it
to be around 4 ft for the screening so I expect I may have to wait a few
years for its full effect.
Thanks.

Is it really hardy Rob? M. nepalensis isn't not sure of Morning Light.
Seed can come true though.
Look up a nursery like Knowle gardens they specialise in grasses etc.
they could tell you.

Never grown Miscanthus, but IME of other large grasses, a clump will
take at least a couple of years to reach full size and height, and
then slowly continue to expand.
With reference to JT's post, I have it that Morning Light is hardy to
US Zone 5, i.e. to about -28C IIRC, with the usual caveat that US
hardiness zones are more applicable to continental climates, not
maritime as ours is. Winter wet can be more of a killer here than
winter cold, but I can't believe you'll have any problems.

Gardening in West Cornwall overlooking the sea.
Mild, but very exposed to salt gales
