Can anyone identify these mushrooms growing on my lawn?
There a quite a few now.

We'd have a better chance if you cut one exactly in half, vertically
down the stem (or stipe as it is technically called), and thus allowed
us to see a side view of the gills and how they attach to the stipe,
etc.

Thanks, the side view is very helpful.
I've now remembered what this reminds me of, which is Hebeloma
crustiliniforme, common name Poison Pie. So I certainly wouldn't eat it
without very careful demonstration that it is something quite different.
