I apologise for the quality but wonder if anyone can ID this shrub for
us. Apparently it's some kind of unusual Buddleia and Raymond can't
remember its name!  In the top third centre of the pic is a spray of
its buds.

Looks very like a Bird Cherry but that would not be flowering now.

Looks

No, it's definitely not that, but thanks, Bob.  Raymond is sure it's
some kind of late flowering Buddleia, so I hope he's correct!!

I've never seen Buddleia leaves looking so smooth, and I wonder if
those dark objects botom left hand corner are seeds as they look then
it's not a buddleia.
Back to you Sacha.

To me the leaves just don't look right for a buddleia.
Aside from the apparent smoothness, the shape's bugging me and they
have longer stalks than I'd expect.

But that aside, buddleia auriculata's the closest I can get and it
would be coming into flower about now. It does have long leaf stalks
though the leaves aren't as broad as your photo indicates (unless
that's a trick of the camera).

Cheers, Jake

enjoy today. It's a gift; which is why we call it "the
