I met my husband in the garden centre, we were going to look at different
types of fencing, and then I saw it, on its own looking fabulous, in all its
glory and I'm afraid I couldn't resist it, a Garrya Elliptica, I will have
to go and straighten all the catkins every morning now, like long dangly
earrings, gorgeous!! £29.95 well spent..
Now, advice, they told me it wont be happy living in a pot, so its about 4
ft at the moment, how much longer can I keep it in there? Would it like
anything in the hole before hand, it doesn't say much in my book (tree and
shrub expert) thanks

They will grow to 15 feet or more, so a pot will be too restrictive. I
planted one last year, digging the site well and adding manure, garden
compost, and drainage material. [Its predecessor drowned in the 2007
floods]
