No I don't think so, the stems don't look right, Japanese knot weed
stems are more reddish? Don't know what it is though.

Japanese knotweed (Fallopia japonica) stems are also more upright, and
have a fleshier appearance - these look rather woody. I think that it
may be Russian Vine (Fallopia baldschuanica), which cans swallow a shed
or a small tree. However, it might be easier to control.

I think you're probably right as I had to clip it back hard on Wednesday as
it had suddenly start growing like Topsy :eek: This is our first Spring
here - it was planted against one of the walls of our house by previous
owners and it looks to be a few years old now going by it's main trunk/stem.
I wish they hadn't bothered :(
