Today we received a catalogue from a nurserywoman who has a tv
presence.  For a 9cm pot of Geranium Rozanne she is charging about 7
times what we, or most 'ordinary' nurseries, charge.  There is an
expensive Dahlia 'collection' and another of Sweetpeas, amongst other
things.  And there are all kinds of extraneous bits and bobs which she
doesn't make or stock in a shop she owns, afaik.  There are boots, herb
scissors, twine in different colours, vases.  But the plant prices make
me really cross. Really, really annoyed. People will pay this because
this woman has been on tv. It's disgraceful.  Caveat emptor.

We Americans have catalog stores that do similar things.  They seem aimed
mainly to folks who like to brag about how much they paid for something
that can be had for half price anywhere else.
Remember that great American Phineas T. Barnum:  "There's a sucker born
every minute.*"

*I know; he didn't say exactly that, but close enough.

Try Thompson and Morgan
They are listing 4 different Dahlia 'XXXL   1 jumbo plug   £8.99  (Yes
that's for 1 plant)

that way they can make this fantastic offer
