Today hasn't been cold but certainly cooler. But mostly it's been a
day of strong winds and rain and a lot of grey cloud. Pretty dreary but
what we were promised, I suppose!

The very strong wind has just reached here, but it is still warm.

Strong winds, around 15 and it's rained hard enough tonight to flood under
the railway bridge nearby (my route to Asda for a loaf..)
I made it there just after the rain started, but an hour later when I was
coming back it was flooding enough for me to think "hmm, should I risk my
car through that or not?"
I did, and it was Ok, but I've seen many a car try and fail and have to be
dragged out by the fire brigade.
I have a pic on my computer of a car that tried, he had to get out of his
sunroof and I suspect his elderly car would be a write off after that.

Having people from abroad around for a couple of weeks put us behind with
our allotment. they went back to California and we had two more days of sun
to help with the hoeing then it's turned cool for the digging/rotovating,
perfect timing.
