The female flowers are fully double and quite spectacular. However the male
flowers are single and not showy. Is anything to be gained by removing
them?
TIA

Yes, even bigger flowers. Most Begonias have one central showy flower and a
couple of smaller female flowers behind which if you take them off
concentrate all the energy to the main flower, and anyway the plant looks
better too without those small single blooms.
