Just went out to throw some bread out for the birds.  I have to do it
once the dog's had his last outing or he scoffs it!   The Euphorbia
mellifera in a pot by the back door was so strongly scented that it
really took me aback.  It's phenomenal!

Mine succumbed to the winter :-(

Fortunately, I have a number of plants self-seeded into pots that were
in the greenhouse overwinter, so we can start again. But this year will
be without that overpowering smell of honey (and without the later
fusillade of popping seed pods)

Ours looked a bit sick but have come back nicely.  What particularly
struck me was the strength of the scent around midnight.  It was balmy
and very still but even so, it was a stronger scent than in the day
time.  I wonder if they're pollinated by moths.  Do you happen to know?
