Yessterday afternoon we went to Overbecks at Salcombe. Chatting to one
of the gardeners we found that nobody knew the name of this Dahlia and
wonder if anyone can id it?

PS We had a lovely lunch beforehand, sitting on the verandah of the
South Sands Hotel, looking right over the beach! A rare and very good
'day out'.

Hi Sacha,
The nearest I got was Dahlia 'Catherine Deneuve', which seems to be a
dark salmon rather than a light salmon, but maybe the light or even
bloom ageing has something to do with it.
Even some individuals from D.'The Bishop's Children' come close to it.
I had one myself years back and it was lovely, but you'd have to buy the
mixed seed and rogue out the ones you didn't want.

Thanks, Spider. I forgot to say, btw, that this particular Dahlia is
about 4' tall with the bronze leaves. The lighter leaves in the
foreground don't belong to it.

Could be Sunshine, Moonfire is a bit short, but considering the plants
growing round it the hight is not to good an indicator as it will be
drawn up.

They have Moonfire in front of it, David but it's not in the photo. As
I said in my reply to Spider, it's about 4'.
