We have some bumblebees nesting in our garage, in a crack of the floor.

Does anyone know how to get rid of them?  Would a beekeeper be able to
collect them up like the ordinary bees?

Or should we leave them and wait until they go elsewhere in the winter.

I'd leave them alone.  If you don't impede their flight path by
standing in front of the entrance to the nest they're very unlikely to
take any interest in you at all.  They're busy foraging for food for
themselves and their colony so the idea that bees are looking for
trouble is alarmist.   There's a desperate shortage of bees at present
and they need all the help and encouragement they can get.

Leave them.  Provided that you don't tread on them in bare feet,
they won't sting you.  You can pick them up with your hands if
you do it carefully - they are really rather cuddly :-)

That may well be so, but we have a crack in a concrete pad (between us
and nextdoor), and for the last three years I have seen bumble bees
flying in and out of it.  They may well be a different set of bees each
year, but it must be ideal for "fuzzy bombers" as they use it every
year.  Due to their pollinating activities and the general shortage of
bees, I am loath to seal the crack up.
