My apologies for raising this again but I do remember that a while ago,
someone offered me advice on where to find this very rare variety of
pear tree. I made a note at the time, didn't act upon it (mea culpa)
and now can't find it. If anyone can help me to find one/some of
these, I'd be so grateful. Ideally, i'd like 3 or 4 but even 1 would
be great!

I thought there WAS only one of you Sacha :)

A quick search indicates a very large number of synonyms (assuming
that the reference is correct). My approach would be a tedious
manual search for each name using an advanced Web search.
