i recently acquired one of those large wooden spools that the electric company
uses to store miles of wire. i'd like to build a rotating compost bin with the
spool. has anyone seen any plans on how to do this?

would simply covering the outside with 1/4" hardware cloth do the job (with a
few nailers/braces of course)? how often should i turn the thing?

fwiw, i compost solely for the purpose of trash reduction. i do not have a
garden or use the compost for anything. i compost small amounts of yard waste,
all compostable food scraps, shredded junk mail

thanks!

With hardware cloth you will end up with a sifter. You'd need solid sheet to
keep the compost in and moist.

That page will have all sorts of other links on the same topic.
