home made spray for over a month now... it works. but... i've found that the aphids seem to be coming back, especially on one iceberg whites. however the mr lincoln rose seems largely immune to the aphids including the older 15 year old "peace" rose. the oil i think must still be killing them as you can see the dead black - 8
that " rose " has palmate leaves which i have never seen on a rose before. usually they are compound. the blooms and buds sure look like roses. does anyone know its botanical name or another common name for it? i doubt it would be cold hardy in my zone. i would like to see if there is anything like it on helpmefind.com. - 7
i have a big beautiful rose bush on one side of my fence gate. i dont' tend it but it just gets bigger. i wanted to buy a yellow rose for the right side, from miller nurseries. i've tried before in that part of my yard, bought locally, and they just die. lots of clay in the soil might be part of the problme. i live on the - 6
stan, doubt you have made any mistakes mate, it is still technically winter, even though the air temps may be higher the ground temps may be static at winter temp's. the rose doesn't need kid glove treatment, it is just another exotic plant that may need some prunning at times to keep it tidy. as you can see i'm no super dooper rose lover, - 6
well, it looks like a rose -bush -- the ordinary kind of rose you see in suburban gardens (think of the form of a "peace" rose, though it doesn't seem to grow as tall). new growth is that lovely maroon. the flower is a soft yellow, almost a buff, tending to apricot. it's not a really complex rose like "buff - 6
