pine s notoriously prevent anything else from growing near them, so yeah. however, i'm personally not sure if it's just the acidity of the dropped leaves, or if only the living trees are able to have this effect. (or perhaps both). having said that, acid-lovers such as strawberries (in particular) & other berries such as blueberries - 3
let them breathe. otherwise they will die from polution just like you do. it has been debunked, (they dont) not yet by the mythbusters, or did i miss that one? wollimi pine s will probably take over the whole building if you get a big enough pot. try to make a bansai pine out of it. pines do not belong indoors... re your peace - 3

did this myself & worked great. unbelievably great.. moved to a house that the previous non's did nothing in the yard except rake the pine tags into two piles in the middle of the front and back yards. used pine tags elsewhere and obviously there were two deader than dead spots. dug up 4 or 5 spots in inconspicuous places in march - 3

appreciate how to kill these parasites. we've had 3 book-leaf pine -trees for 0 yrs in the front yard and out here in dubbo they do reasonabley well for non-gardeners like myself. but in the last 10 days they have been attacked by grubs which clothe themselves in a cacoon made from the pine-tree's leaves. there are 100s of these things - 3
hi, its been over 6 months since i posted about my pine mulch problem so i thought i'd share whats happened since i used the mulch. backdrop: i have a dozen conifer pine trees - had them pruned back and mulched the residue. there was a fair bit of the mulch and i couldn't just store it in one location in my garden. the - 3
up & it quite have no like. am it's no, it's a different mix. potting mix (nowadays) is made from pine bark (some bits finer than others) with different things added such as water crystals and long life fertiliser (it looks like small coloured beads in the mix). the really cheap stuff is vitually pure pine bark and is not good. - 3
their you are discussing two different things. chookie didn't mention that plants died of acidity but from thirst from a heavy layer of needles. i agree with her. pine needles are water repellant in large quantities and are a pain in the bum when they do that. your idea of using pine mulch is a different matter. i too use pine - 3
