maple called 'senkaki' hmm, it's kinda confusing because i wanted to get another one because we sold that house where i'd featured it in a japanese style garden and i really loved that tree. when i bought it the nurseryman told me it was a shishi gashira (an acer palmatum) and so when i went looking for it on the web, yes - 4
there's a norway maple blight? that's great! i just had the huge norway maple by the front corner of my house taken down. it'll be replaced with a sugar maple. there's a couple more norways, smaller ones, that i'll take down later in the summer (once my surgery heals & if i don't have chemo). i hate norway maples & - 4
folks, duncan donuts is running a commercial where an office worker is tapping a tree in his office for maple syrup and another guy comes by flaunting his maple flavored breakfast thingy. the thing is, that tree does not look like a maple tree to us here and we are trying to figure out what kind of a tree it is. one would - 4
i live in south eastern ontario, canada. i plan to buy a maple (probably red maple but not 100% sure) from a local landscaping place. their maples are roughly 10 feet tall in 4-36" diameter pots. is timing crucial at all? should i wait til next spring? no difference? - 3
just too effin' big" for the location it was planted. what do you mean? in a wrestling match? in checkers? a marathon? please define: "handle". how large is the maple ? how close are you wanting to plant, next to it? what species of maple? the shade of the tree *may* have had something to do with the clematis' demise. ;) - 3
the yard and i'm too shy to actually knock on their door to ask what it is, so thought maybe you folks could help. it looks like a short -- really short -- maple tree of some kind. it's about -3 feet tall. it has a single trunk (or a very trunk-like stem) that is a couple inches in diameter and an umbrella-shaped canopy of dark - 3
i'm envious of your roots 3 or 4 inches below surface. i have many maple root partially above surface that make it very hard to mow. i cut maple roots indescriminatley. - 3
i tried that about 30 years ago. we had a big sugar maple in the front yard that i tapped and collected about 10 gal of sap. i set up a shack with a coleman stove to boil it down. the bottom line is that i spent $ 0 of gas to get maple sugar that i could buy from local shops for $ . - 2
what is a can't miss way to sprout maple tree seeds? - 2
replacing a fence with this plant. i don't know what type of cedar they are, but i see them everywhere (southern on can.) my questions, how well will this plant handle maple tree roots. there is all day sun, but the fine/fibrous roots of the tree restrict the growth of clematis (sp). the area is fairly wet and clay. also these plants - 2
