can anyone identify this plant. it is not winter hardy but i saved some
seeds for this year.

Looks like Four O'Clocks (Mirabilis jalapa) to me.

You didn't see the pic link in the original post?
*What* is blank?
Could this be an issue regarding that scab site, gardenbanter?
What might be the purpose in hiding any/every thing following a few dashes?
I don't get it.

Looking at your posting headers I see you are using Microsoft Live
Mail to post.  Apparently Microsoft Live Mail is not smart enough
the recognize the signature delimiter.  

I put a large arrow (<====) in the post above to identify the
signature delimiter.

Most newsreaders realize the message ends at the delimiter
and treat is specially.  Some people couldn't see your reply at all.
Maybe you should use some other program to post on Usenet...
