hallo,
there are many tamarisks in the area so i think they must like the
conditions. i would like to take a cutting of one.
questions
- a soft-wood or hardwood cutting?
- which time of year to do it in, now its end september, is this ok?
- can i stick it straight into soil where i want it to grow?
- will it grow fast: i need some privacy-cover
thanks to all

-- most certainly - am on southern shore of lake balaton in hungary.
land very flat water-table high so anything that can take up groundwater
like my willow is a bonus! i have not seen very many around here and
they certainly do not appear to be invasive. so yes, yes, i will be
having a tamarisk. (i'd love to be able to afford to go see the grand
canyon and see your problem for myself!)
thanks
