Well written, but nothing new from the extended prose on appreciating
weeds.
Here's my latest definition:
A weed is first of all a plant of any species.
Secondly, it is a plant that at any given time and place happens to
present problems or economic issues to farmers, land managers or
gardeners involved in cultivating prefered plants or clearing
vegatation from various spaces for purposes of human interest.
Thirdly, such purposes and behaviors offer little or no benefit to the
natural ecology.
Forthly, agriculture is the most devasting event that ever threatened
the diversity of species on this planet.

Anything that grows where you don't want it to.
