The price of tobacco has gotten out of control due to taxes. I smoke,
and I know the risks, so please dont preach about the harmful effects
or why I should quit. Legally, a person can grow tobacco for
themselves, as long as they dont sell it. I just want to plant a
small tobacco patch on my farm. Probably no bigger than 12 x 20 feet.
I'll have to learn more about harvesting and processing it. I already
roll my own so I know how to do that.
My biggest problem is where to get the seeds. Anyone know?

It's a disgusting habit, you are killing yourself and those around you.
Sheesh... you haven't even tried to look... there are dozens and dozens of
web sites that sell seed and offer all the info you need:... you want we

I bought about 3 pounds of cigar tobacco and a couple of packets of
seeds 2 years ago; haven't gotten around to trying to learn cigar
rolling yet (other than one short panatela that I rolled when I first
got the stuff.) The leaves need to age anyway :-) I'll see if I can
find where I bought the stuff -- all I remember is it's from Amish
country in Pennsylvania. The bulk dried tobacco only cost $3 or $4 per
pound for good stuff. I should have a lifetime supply here as long as I
don't let it mold.

I know you can buy the plants at the farmer's co-op. Have not seen
the seeds, tough. Tobacco requires a lot of care. Listen to the
American Cancer Society.
