I have a garden which is approx 80' wide but runs up the side of a hill for
60'
Not being very good with design etc im looking for ideas on how to make the
best of the area. from around 30 feet up I have very good view andwas
thinking of some form of decking. The hillside itself is too steep to turf
etc as if will be impossible to mow
Help ?

You could terrace the bit where you want a deck/patio and run a path down
the rest that winds around, to reduce the steepness like a mountain road.
Running it down through dense tropical type planting would be interesting.
Planting would cause no problems although you may want to rope yours to
something solid at the top. Loose dirt etc could be washed down the slope by
rain so you may need to put in some walls or boulders.
I've seen very steep lawns mowed from the top by using a hover mower on a
rope, I think they use that method at Windsor Castle. Turf might not be a
good idea though but seeding would work.
