HI:
I am looking at a Husqvarna GT2554 garden tractor to buy and use on my
12 acres. This is a 22hp, 54" deck model, 6 speed/hi-lo range.
If you have experience with this brand of mower/tractor or any model
of Husqvarna please let me know you opinion.
The one repair shop in this area says these are unreliable. But then
he also says he stopped selling them because they 'screwed him', no
explination. Sounds like sour grapes.
Thanks,
Gus

I can't attest specificly to the garden tractor, but other Husqvarna
products are excellent. They have a great reputation for chain/power
saws, trimmers and lawn mowers. I have had a PS-250 power pole saw
since 1998, that I use in commercial arboricultural work, and it is
still going strong. Unfortunately, the model was discontinued the same
year that i purchased it. Parts are still available but they are not
cheap, and are not available from any other source.
Regarding the shops comment, I do know that the large manufacturers are
pushing the dealers here in Canada to carry the entire line of
products,(and NO other brand), and if the dealer can't or does not want
to spend that sort of money, they are no longer dealers. In addition
the manufacturers don't even want their dealers to sell parts to other
shops. I certainly would not want to be a dealer. I don't blame the
shop owner for haveing the taste of sour grapes in his mouth.
