This year I seem to be having terrible trouble with tomato seeds! they just
will not seem to grow at all. Previous years have been fine, but this year
everything seems to have been a failure with my tomato seeds. I was
wondering if anyone has any suggestions?
I grow them in single pots, with John Innes potting compost, then place them
in a Gardman growhouse, but although all my other seeds have grown well, the
tomatoes are not showing at all.
I live in SE Kent.
Would be obliged for any advice or recommendations.
Cheers ~Brian~

Two things Brian.,
You will find lots of knowledgeable gardeners on uk.rec.gardening. Hint!
:-)
The only time I've had problems is with bad compost (New Horizons and
Homebase own) when I had to replant all our allotment seeds in better
compost as not much germinated and what did didn't grow. Other problems
could be lack of warmth/water or very old seed (although Tomatoes are
notorious for growing from ancient seed).

Thanks Bob, I suspect I may have got a bad pack of seeds actually because
two lots have failed.
