Hi  Although I live in Vancouver BC our weather is very much the same as in
southern England - I finally found this beautiful plant (Dierama pendulem -
botan. name) but now need to find out how to protect it through our winter -
which usually has about 3-6 days of 0-4 C (28-32 F) -or in other words a few
days of possible freezing temps.  In its sunny location where it grows best
it is not that sheltered so should I cover it with leaves or dig it up and
put it in the garage - with dirt or without?  Being an amateur gardener I
don't have a greenhouse.  I would appreciate any suggestions   Thanks Jean

They do not like to be disturbed so don't dig it up ever if you want it to
survive, just apply a good mulch over the roots.

BTW try your post on uk.rec.gardening, it's where most Uk net gardeners are.
