Today there was a pleasant and informative grafting session in Wheaton
Illinois.

Next Sunday, April 31st, there will be a similar event at the Chicago
Botanic
Garden in Glencoe Illinois, just north of Chicago.  The charge for this
instruction
is only 5 dollars for non-members, and includes a rootstock and two
pieces of
scion wood.  You get to take home your tree and any additional ones you
buy
for a 5 dollar per rootstock fee.  You can select from many varieties of

apples, pears, plums, etc.  Visit  www.midfex.org  to learn more.
Midfex stands for Midwest Fruit Explorers, a not for profit group
which trys to encourage growing fruit, berries, and nuts in people's
backyards.

SUNDAY, April 31th
Chicago Botanic Garden Glencoe, IL.
Lecture starts promptly at 1 PM and runs until 4 PM.
