Looks like a Lychee but is yellow inside with small seads.
Anyone any idea what it is ? (I am in the UK btw)

Looks like Cornus kousa (Chinese dogwood).

My mate ate some before we even knew what it was, so he is safe :)

Definitely Cornus kousa. I have one in my garden and eat it when I am
able, as they are delicious. Unfortunately they have the annoying habit
of all falling off before they ripen most years.
