I need to sharpen the mulcher blades. It is now producing 6" strips
instead of nice chunks and since it is already in pieces from removing a
jammed stick, it is an opportun moment.

This raises the pertinant question as to the optimum cutting angle for
Australian hardwoods.

Can anyone tell me what they are?
Thanks .

 g'day terryc,

might also depend on what shreding action it has and what make of
shredder it is?

but the greenfiled i had the blades where honed to app' 45 degree
angle, semed to hold it sedge good and do the job required.

also most blades are case hardened so care needs to be taken when
honing them so as not to add heat which could change the structure of
the blades material. with the greenfiloed i would take my blades to a
place that sharpens those things.
